A week in the life of an agency caregiver

Taking control.  What does that mean to you?  It can mean many things but to an agency caregiver, it means control of their time and schedule.  Isn't that what matters? More time for your family, more time for hobbies, more time for vacation...simply, more "me" time.

Below is a first person look into the happenings of any given week for an agency caregiver...

YESTERDAY (SUNDAY).  "hmm,...should I work today, go to the grocery store, go to church, go shopping, take time for fun at the park with my family or maybe I'll just stay home and recharge?"

TODAY.  "QS asked me to work today but they kept me close to home which was nice.  After work I think I'll go  to the park for an hour with the kids then enjoy more time at home. This is definitely more than I've been used to before I started as an agency caregiver."

TOMORROW. "...schedule is to go to the grocery store for a few things, shop for myself and then head home.  I could get used to this time for myself!"

WEDNESDAY.  "I picked up a morning shift from QS but then I get to meet some friends for coffee at 3 then I'll have the rest of the afternoon off for myself. I love this."

THURSDAY.  "I was asked a few days ago if I wanted to work today. I accepted a day shift but this means I get to sleep in! Maybe tonight I'll take the family out for dinner and a movie."

FRIDAY. TGIF!  Today is payday!  I'm thinking I'll treat myself to some shopping.  I like to say I will be window shopping but we know that never pans out. ha!"

SATURDAY.  "It''s the weekend but doesn't feel like it for some reason.  I guess my whole week was up to me and what I wanted to do rather than living for the weekend my whole week is great!  Today I think I'll go to park, rest some more and be with my family all day.  This is the best and I wouldn't change anything!"

"I make more money in 3 days and a better living than i used to at a full time job.  I am so much more rested, and really comfortable with life.  I am so thankful to be in control of my time!

What are your options besides working everyday?  Do you have this sort of flexibility? QS keeps you close to home with work so you can enjoy more "me" time and get more out of life in general!
